A Monument to Summer, 2024. 100% waste: discarded Actimel bottles, leftover buttons, bits, bobs, fruit nets, ringpulls, old business cards and a whole lot of stitching, crocheting and loving on a few layers, 100x100cm.

Francesca Busca

https://www.francescabusca.art

As an Eco-artivist, ‘Rubbish artist’ and mosaicist, I pioneer sustainable art and create my artworks entirely out of waste.
Torn between optimism and surrender, haunted by the idea of mankind’s imminent self-destruction, I believe in a future through systemic re-thinking. Every tessera I create is in itself a protest against our disposable lifestyle. I thoroughly enjoy working within the ethical and material limitations involved, working with materials which often take years to gather, and whose legacy I like to extend beyond their mere creation, as the starting point for a continued, multi-faceted narrative through layers of staged photography.
Gesamtkunstwerk, my commitment to sustainability encompasses every aspect of my life, from veganism to renewables, second-hand clothes (…) to not flying.

Ex-City solicitor, I then graduated with distinction at LSoM in 2019, where I also lectured Fabrication. Internationally, I exhibited in 100+ venues, was published in 90+ articles and textbooks, and won 20+ awards.

Founder of Payment in Kind(ness)© and ArtforTrash©, I also run pro-bono art projects on eco-awareness and sustainability.

I am now on a retainer with the Institute of Marine Sciences in Venice, collaborating with the institute and with some prestigious art institutes over the next few years.

I believe the secret to taking great photographs is opportunity.
The braver and more courageous you are, the greater the rewards will surely be. I am heavily inspired by my travels and adventures around the world but also discovering things a lot closer to home. I love the diversity that each photograph can bring and I embrace the excitement that a new challenge can present.

Street Artist

Morgasmik

www.morgandavy.co.uk

Morgan Davy, Full time, self taught, British outsider artist,
Spray painting the streets since 2001, and working with clients, running workshops and curating events since 2004.

Art residencies include: Lebanon, Africa, Malta, Bulgaria, Poland and Paris..
Art collectives include : TAA - RA - MSC - RMC - ETL - REK - PBC…

Most often known for his style of improvisational street art under the
name ‘MORGASMIK’, lesser known under such aliases as ‘MORGANARCHY’,
‘MORGANIC’ ‘ ‘MORGANISM’ which are used by the artist to portray a
vast range of explorational mediums and alternative creative platforms.

Art critic Nick Razzo once described one of Morgan’s pieces
"Like a sort of hypnagogic supernova all mixed up with Francis Bacon
and the brain scans of someone enjoying an orgasm. At one point it
seems like a sea of rare chemicals on a distant planet, at another it
resembles a monstrous bird. The attention to detail is awesome,
ensuring that if you are examining it from three inches away or 10 feet,
you get a mighty jolt of aesthetic pleasure. If this nature of art was a
genre of music, it could be found under a ’psychedelic surf-funk’ section!”

Almost as if an act of social, or self-therapy, each piece he paints in public, is like an an expressive
statement, or a peaceful protest in restoring the value of human potential & faith in Artistic freedom.

His intentions are to become a unique & personal experience to the viewer, stimulating new thought
patterns & imagination, inviting them to look within and awaken an inner depth of dormant senses,
breaking down possible conditioning and preconceived notions the viewer may have along the way,
whilst connecting with them through a mutual resonance in the universal language of Art & inspiration.

This is important to Morgan, as he witnesses and is sensitive to the dull lack of honest creativity
+ colour use in societies day-to-day capital, and with this motive, attempts to restore imbalances by
decorating urban grey matter with his rosy glow of colour vitality & free-flowing pattern undulation,
A calling to the direction of Art to be more inclusive, free and publicly accessible to wider audiences.

Jan in Conversation

‘My ethos is fluid, open and colourful. Water flows, so does my abstract art. I am inspired by our amazing ocean, river and coastal landscapes, a quality-loving creative mother and a mathematical engineering fun father. Cornish raised, state-degree-educated, global business wise and South West London living fuse to celebrate my creativity. Painting for me is very freeing, momentary and healthy. Once a piece is finished, I remember a curious happiness from a time well spent.
I often pour water based paints, preferring acrylics for their range of consistency. Gestural brush marks create movement with more solid shapes adding a depth and floating sensation inspired by nature. I like to use companies with a sustainability focus such as St Cuthberts paper mill in Somerset or Fabriano paper mill in Italy. I have a reuse/recycle policy.
Enjoy’.
