‘Y-Our Story: Visual Stories of Acton’

We are happy to announce the successful Arts Council England application co-created with London Borough of Ealing Libraries and Community Centres.  The year-long ‘Y-Our Story: Visual Stories of Acton’ project starts in May and will transform Acton Library’s new performance & exhibition space into a hub for creative storytelling.A year-long programme of artist residencies & community workshops, we will collaborate with local arts organisations, artists, & diverse communities to bring Acton’s stories to life through words & images ensuring inclusion of the marginalised. This will establish Acton as a vibrant cultural zone, fostering long-term creative partnerships while ensuring inclusive access to the arts.

Acton Library reopened in April 2025 with it’s new performance and exhibition space, strengthening its position as a cultural hub. Acton already has a vibrant creative community, with arts organisations and venues that have collaborated with Ealing Libraries. This project will build on those partnerships and create new ones, establishing Acton as a creative quarter. Y-Our Story is a community-driven visual storytelling project that brings narratives to life through images, objects, and illustrations. Running for a year, it will take place across Acton, with the refurbished library as its centre. The project will enhance the cultural fabric of Acton, fostering expression and connection among its diverse residents.
